Gracious Retirement Living

Nynehead Court is an exclusive Residential Care Home for the discerning resident seeking gracious retirement living. The magnificent Grade II* listed 17th Century manor house, nestling at the centre of the award winning ‘Best Small Village in Somerset’, sits in 13 acres of level parkland, with formal gardens, a parterre, pinetum, icehouse, summer house, croquet lawn, close care mews housing and a beautiful 13th century Grade 1* Listed Parish Church.

Nynehead Court has spacious, elegantly furnished drawing and dining rooms, an orangery and a television room. Most private rooms are large bed-sitting rooms or adjoining rooms with separate sitting and sleeping areas, each with its own ensuite, with additional bathrooms equipped to facilitate bathing for those who may need assistance.  A new 'Mulberry Wing' is currently being extended and modified to cater for those with memory impairment and in need of greater stimulation to retain a higher quality of life.

Within the Court, each room has the individual character that might be expected of an elegant country house. Residents enjoy a hotel style of living, combining comfort and a high degree of independence with the reassuring security of the best possible support and care for those who want it. Private therapies, reflexology and chiropody treatment are all included within the fee.

There is also a flat within the main building and close care housing (see details of 'close care properties' at the menu above) within the grounds of the Court.  The Court also has two cars (one of which has been adapted for wheelchair use) and a 17 seater minibus (also adapted for wheelchair use), two x 4 seater golf buggies and a number of single seat buggies to meet all types of transportation needs, to include shopping, outings and accompaniment to appointments ....  again, all within the all-inclusive fee.

The residents enjoy a close relationship with the local community who hold drinks parties, concerts and presentations in the Court, along with regular outings and a full programme of events (see this month's programme at this LINK) to include visits, concerts, recitals, lectures, outings, picnics and pub lunches, all of which are again covered within the fees.

Whilst details of the aims and objectives, the philosophy of care and the all inclusive fees are summarised in the links to the right of this page, full details can be found in the Resident's Handbook which is reproduced at this LINK

It is always worth telephoning (see tel no above) to find out if a respite room can be made available for a short break or a trial visit
